Gawai.

It's that time of year. The day of merry men and many drinks from the tribes people of Sarawak Borneo, Malaysia. The day of many parties and celebrations throughout the tribes houses.

M was too far away from home to celebrate Gawai, and felt a sense of guilt within him. He hasn't done so for a long while. Gawai day is a rice harvest festival celebrated by the Iban Headhunters of Sarawak, Malaysia. M himself is an Iban. Moreso that he wanted to go back home, and forget the worries that have been troubling him for the past few weeks.

But seeing his friends made him think otherwise. The coming Friday would have a BBQ delight at M's house, equipped with a pool, a basketball court, and a BBQ area. So maybe that's a good enough Gawai substitute for the lost Iban here in Australia...
